Overlay Conflicts (Discord, Steam, Xbox)
Launch-week community reports tie frequent "Not Responding" freezes and random disconnects to third-party overlays. Before blaming hardware, disable:
- Discord in-game overlay (Settings → Game Overlay → off)
- Steam overlay (Steam → Settings → In-Game → disable)
- Xbox Game Bar (Windows Settings → Gaming → Game Bar → off)
Restart the client after disabling overlays. Pair with graphics tuning from Settings & Performance if stutter persists in crowded Prontera.
Launcher Stuck After Patch Download
If the Gravity launcher hangs on "Updating" or never opens the game after a patch completes, bypass the launcher temporarily:
Step 1: Navigate to your ROW install folder (default under Program Files or your chosen Steam library path). Step 2: Run Ragnarok.exe directly. Step 3: Once in-game, verify the patch version matches official notices before farming.

When to Reinstall vs. Wait
Day 2 launch congestion causes false positives — slow patches, login queues, and one-time shader compiles feel like bugs. Wait 30 minutes after maintenance before reinstalling. Whitelist the game folder in antivirus, update GPU drivers, and confirm you downloaded from official Steam or the Gravity launcher — not third-party mirrors.
