What Is the Starglade Expansion
Starglade is the next major content expansion for Ragnarok: The New World, teased in the Content Roadmap and confirmed during the chief-examiner livestream. It adds the Sky Fortress zone — a vertical floating continent above open Midgard — and raises the level cap from 75 to 80 with a new Valkyrie raid at the top.
The expansion emphasizes vertical exploration: zones layer above and below the existing world, accessed through Sky Portals that activate after main story chapter 12. SEA rollout is expected in Q1 2027 following the TW/HK/MO introduction.

Sky Fortress — New Zone Layout
The Sky Fortress is a floating zone built on layered plateaus connected by gravity bridges. Three distinct regions exist within the zone:
- Outer Rampart — Lv.76–78 mob density zone, home to new Sigurd Knights faction.
- Inner Sanctum — Lv.78–80 elite zone with weather-based hazards (Frostbite during storms, Blazing during sun peaks).
- Yggdrasil Crown — Lv.80 raid instance, the summit of the Sky Fortress where the Valkyrie awaits.
Travel inside Sky Fortress uses the new Wing Dash system — wings gain a stamina-limited vertical boost. Plan wing upgrades via Free Wing Unlock before the expansion drops.
Valkyrie's Trial — Lv.80 Raid
The Valkyrie's Trial weekly boss becomes the new endgame, replacing Dark Lord as the highest-tier encounter. World Boss Guide covers the contribution system; the Lv.80 raid instance is a structured 8-player encounter with scripted mechanics.
The raid ties directly into the Legend Cup Tournament Roadmap — winning squads at Top 96 receive a guaranteed clear pass. Pair your guild's tournament prep with raid progression.
New Systems — Weather, Yggdrasil Fruits, and Sigurd Reputation
Starglade introduces three new meta-systems:
- Weather System: Sky Fortress weather shifts every 30 minutes, cycling between Clear, Frostbite, and Blazing. Each weather grants elemental damage bonuses and applies debuffs — Frostbite cuts attack speed, Blazing applies burn damage over time. Plan travel and farming windows with the in-game weather tracker.
- Yggdrasil Fruits: New consumable drops that grant one of three effects: permanent +1 STR, +1 AGI, or +1 INT per fruit consumed. Caps of 5 per stat per character — plan carefully.

What Players Should Prepare Now
Before Starglade drops:
