What Is Energy in ROW?
Energy (often called Combat Stamina in the ROW community) is a daily limit that controls how efficiently your character farms combat content. While Energy remains available, you receive bonus EXP, higher material drop rates, better card chances, and extra Zeny from relevant monsters. After Energy depletes, base EXP and offline auto-hunt still run — but bonuses disappear and daily progress slows sharply.
ROW also runs a separate Life Stamina pool for life skills — mining, fishing, gathering, cooking, and crafting. The two pools do not share and both replenish over time. Spend both before the daily server reset so you never waste free progression slots. Life skill habits sit alongside combat in our Daily Routine guide.
Combat Stamina vs Life Stamina
| Pool | Used for | Week two note |
|---|---|---|
| Combat Stamina / Energy | Field farming, MVP hunts, Time Corridor, Energy-cost board quests | Priority #1 for EXP and gear materials — spend on high-value targets only |
| Life Stamina | Mining, logging, fishing, gathering, alchemy, cooking | Run in parallel after combat depletes — long-term crafting stockpiles |
Beginner mistake: burning Energy on random weak mobs without checking the Recommended Monster menu. Open the recommendation list before spending — targets with 110% EXP bonus and fast kill speed beat comfortable zones with low yield. See also our Leveling Guide for level 1–50 routes.
Energy Priority Order (Daily Tier List)
Community tier list for combat Energy spending as of July 2026:
- Time Corridor ×3 — non-negotiable; F2P and spender gear material backbone (Dungeons Guide).
- Orange-quality Board Quests — refresh to orange before accepting; most consistent daily EXP.
- Post-reset MVP hunts — early boss windows yield participation loot for refine (MVP Hunt Priority).
- Guild orders (≤3) — long-term Guild Coin income (Guild Guide).
- Paradise Dance + Event tab login — ~5 minutes, free currency.
- Remaining field Energy — only on recommended monsters with high kill speed.
- Offline auto-hunt — after Energy depletes; drop rates fall but passive EXP continues with Kafra VIP Pass.
Core loop (Energy + board + dungeon + check-in) takes ~30 minutes. Full optimization including MVP and guild tasks runs ~60 minutes. Skip exploration and gathering when time is limited — they do not block core progression.
Energy and Job Freedom
Energy spending follows your active job while farming. Swap to Mage for fast AoE clears, then return to your party class for MVP — stat and skill resets are free via Job Freedom, but switch time is still an opportunity cost. Plan a two-class rotation in Job Freedom Strategy instead of chain-switching five jobs in one day.
Offline auto-hunt respects the job active at logout. Set the job you want to level before closing the client. Daily tasks sometimes require specific damage types — swap jobs to clear guild orders faster.
Most Costly Energy Mistakes
- Random spending before checking Recommended Monster — one wrong-target session wastes half your Energy bar.
- Skipping Time Corridor because "MVP is busy" — dungeon income is more predictable than boss RNG.
- Letting Life Stamina cap at reset — overflow cap means lost free crafting materials.
- Farming under-level mobs — level penalties reduce EXP per Energy point.
- Pushing refine before Energy routine stabilizes — daily loop materials fund safe +10 in week two (Week Two Guide).
