What Star Stones Are For
Star Stones (also called Starstones) are ROW's premium currency. They buy convenience, gacha pulls, and a short list of shop packs — they do not replace refine stones, Energy, or Job Freedom. Gravity's August Steam FAQ is explicit: several combat consumables left the Star Stone shop, and a weekly free pool of about 6,580 stones exists if you finish the daily quiz and guild auction.

Weekly Free Income — Quiz and Guild Auction
The studio FAQ lists two free sources that can add up to about 6,580 Star Stones per week:
- Daily quiz — community posts call it Hoppy Quiz. Open the Event or activity tab after reset; answers rotate. Missing a day is the usual leak, not a bad gacha pull.
- Guild auction — participate when your guild runs the auction window. Solo players who skipped guild until week seven leave this pile on the table — join by day two: Guild Guide.
Exact daily splits can move after maintenance. Screenshot the Event tab on Monday so you know whether you are ahead or behind the weekly cap. Do not buy stones to "catch up" a quiz you skipped — run Destined Hearts and Pioneer instead.
Removed from the Star Stone Shop
Gravity confirmed these combat consumables no longer sell for Star Stones:
- Enhanced dishes / hearty meals that used to sit next to pet food in the cash shop
- Yggdrasil Leaves
- Concentration potions
Farm them from dungeons, stalls, and event shops. If a third-party guide still says "buy Yggdrasil Leaves with stones," it is stale. Royal Gear also has in-world drop paths (dungeons, MVPs, field chests) — see Equipment Guide.
Never Buy These on a F2P Budget
- Cosmetics and dyes in week one — wardrobe does not clear Time Corridor.
- Duplicate convenience you already got from the Kafra VIP Pass — Kafra VIP Pass.
- Gacha pet banners before you try World Catch on the same SSR.
- Energy refills as a habit — Energy is a daily budget, not a wallet: Energy System.
- Random costume gacha while your weapon is under +10. Refine first: Safe Refinement +15.
Acceptable rare spends: extra storage if the bag is actually blocking mail, or a one-time account unlock that Job Freedom cannot replace. When in doubt, hold the stones through Destined Hearts (ends August 24) and Pioneer (September 16).
