What Is Build Recommendation?
Build Recommendation is ROW's built-in loadout assistant — a menu that suggests stat distribution, skill priorities, equipment, cards, runes, and sometimes consumables for each job and sub-build. Gravity ships templates tuned for SEA launch balance, including the new Druid forms (Werewolf, Wereraptor, Human Arcanist).
Think of it as a official starter blueprint, not an endgame bible. Templates excel during levels 1–50 when you are learning skill names and gear slots. After week two, pair recommendations with dedicated pages like Gunslinger Build, ADL Hunter Build, or Druid Form Guide for meta refinements community testing uncovered post-launch.
Where to Find It in the Client
Open the main menu after tutorial completion — the feature label may appear as Build Recommendation, Recommended Build, or under the Character / Skill panel depending on client version and platform.
PC (Steam / official client): Usually under character sheet or skill tree — look for a gold "recommend" banner beside stat and skill tabs. Mobile: Tap the character portrait → build or guide icon. Templates update when you change jobs through Job Freedom — always re-open the menu after swapping classes.
If the menu is greyed out, finish the opening main quest chain in Izlude/Prontera per Getting Started. Some secondary features unlock around job advancement level 40.
How to Apply Templates Safely
- Pick your target job and sub-build (example: Hunter ADL vs Trapper, Druid Wereraptor vs Werewolf).
- Preview stats and skills before confirming — templates may dump points into utility you do not need yet.
- Apply stat and skill suggestions separately if the client allows — skills often need manual ordering on your hotbar.
- Compare gear lists to what you actually own — recommendations show best-in-slot targets, not realistic launch-week gear.
- Reset mistakes free with Kafra VIP Pass skill and stat resets instead of spending Star Stones.
Week-two rule: apply recommendations once, then only respec when changing your committed main class. Constant respecs waste launch-week quest board time documented in Week Two Guide.
When to Ignore the Template
Override Build Recommendation when:
- MVP hunting — burst templates differ from open-field farming; see MVP Hunt Priority.
- PvP arenas — templates skew PvE; read PvP Modes for burst vs sustain swaps.
- Economy mains — Merchant templates underweight stall and crafting loops in Merchant Build.
- Party support — Priest templates may skip battle-priest variants for undead maps.
Use the Class Switch Planner before following a template on an alt you will abandon — refine stones stick to your main even if Job Freedom resets stats.
